Slow me down, Lord

Slow me down, Lord.
Ease the pounding of my heart with the quieting of my mind;
Steady my hurried pace with a vision of the eternal reach of time;
Give me, amid the confusion of the day, the calmness of the everlasting hills;
Break the tension of my nerves and muscles with the soothing music of the singing streams that live in my memory.
Help me to know the magical, restoring power of sleep.
Teach me the art of taking minute vacations — of slowing down to look at a flower, to chat with a friend, to pat a dog, to read a few lines from a good book.
Slow me down, Lord, and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life’s enduring values that I may grow toward the stars of my greater destiny.

This poem was shared to me by Joy Sosoban, it came in my email together with the daily Gospel which i receive from the Kerygma Family everyday.
Everyday I receive these wonderful sharing from the Kerygma Family and it inspires me and make me remember the Bible readings I once learned early on in my life.
Actually, I want to study the Bible. I don't want to read it by myself. I have been watching Father Chito Tagle every Sunday morning on The Word Exposed Channel 5 7am. He gives a very detailed explanation on the readings of the day. Well, I only hope he opens a Bible study course in the future.

In this busy life of ours, it is important to find peace and silence in the little things that we are able to do.
